- For this week’s discussion, I read the article Cambridge Analytica and Facebook: The Scandal and the Fallout So Far. The article goes over how personal data was stolen from millions of users on Facebook by a consulting company called Cambridge Analytica. Their data was used to for political campaigns to give candidates votes from information that was mined from Facebook to increase their chances of winning. A former employee at Cambridge Analytica came forth and told the New York Times what was going on which brought light to what was going on. An ethical conundrum is when a problem occurs which causes one to make a decision based on their personal values. It’s basically asking someone to make a decision based on personal beliefs. The former employee has to make a decision based on keeping his job while doing something shady or revealing the truth.
