Part 1: Art Creation
Select a poem, musical piece, or dance piece to use as a point of inspiration. Create a work of poetry, lyrics, music, or dance, inspired by your selected art piece. Video or audio recordings should be no longer than 5 minutes and must be in MP4 format.

Note: If your art creation requires a separate file submission, please submit in the Art Creation Submission (Recordings) area following this assignment.

Part 2: Reflection
Write a reflection about the relationship between your art production and the inspiration piece. Include the following in the reflection paper:

• Introduction

• Inspiration Piece

  • Include the inspiration poem, lyrics, or recording of musical or dance piece within the document. Use a link in the case of a recording.

  • Record the title, artist/author/composer, year, and place of origin.

  • Briefly explain the background of the inspiration piece.

• Your Art Piece

  • Include your original poem or lyrics within the document. If you selected a musical or dance piece, submit as a separate file in the Art Creation Submission (Recordings) area following this assignment.

  • Provide a title.

  • Explain the background of your piece.

• Connection

  • Explain the thematic connection between the two pieces.

  • How are they similar and different?

  • Are they the same medium? How does the medium impact what the viewer experiences?

3. Download and Save the article to your computer

4. Read and Annotate the Article Electronically (take notes) Adobe tools (for PDF files). See the video tutorials for Annotating in Word and here is one for Annotating a PDF.

5. Summarize (restate in your own words) what the author of the article is saying about the story or poem.

6. Use Graff’s (textbook) format for summarizing the ideas of others (scholar’s last name + accurate verb + their idea restated in your own words). One or two complete sentences per paragraph should be sufficient.

7. Resave the annotated and summarized article on your computer so you do not lose it.

8. Upload the saved file to the BlackBoard dropbox.

• You are not annotating and summarizing the story or poem; you are summarizing what the scholar is saying in the article about the story or poem.

• This article must be about the story or poem that you have chosen to perform your research over.

What key factors are supported by evidence, such as age, methods, measures and intervals? Consider using the rubric sections as level one headings within the paper.

Master’s-prepared nurse educators, leaders, nurse practitioners and all specialty nursing fields are contributors to health promotion in populations across the life span. You will demonstrate understanding and correct interpretations of preventive screening guidelines. You should be able to apply this knowledge to your specialty focus as it relates to health promotion and epidemiology.

How to complete this form?
